Originally published as New record! Sun Yat-sen University Perovskite Battery Fill Factor 86.6% An international research team, composed of scientists from Sun Yat-sen University and Australian National University, has achieved the highest fill factor of -86.6% reported to date for perovskite batteries of any size. The cell is described in the study "Centimeter-Scale Perovskite Solar Cells with Fill Factors Exceeding 86 Percent" published in Nature. The perovskite solar cell is fabricated with a nitrogen-doped titanium dioxide (TiOxNy) electron transport layer, which is designed to improve the charge transport between the cell's perovskite absorber and the electrode. The sample size is 1 square centimeter,ti6al4v, and its certified power conversion efficiency is 22.6% with an average fill factor of 85.3%. The Champion cell achieves a power conversion efficiency of 23.3%, an open-circuit voltage of 1.193 V,Titanium welding pipe, a short-circuit current of 22.80 mA cm2, and a fill factor of 86.6%. This is the highest certified efficiency for a 1-cm2 perovskite solar cell and the highest fill factor reported for a perovskite cell of any size. The device is constructed with a nitrogen-doped titanium dioxide (TiOxNy) electron transport layer and is designed to improve the charge transport between the battery perovskite absorber and the electrode. The TiOxNy electron transport layer is prepared by sputtering at a very low cost, is an ideal electron transport layer for large-area perovskite solar cells, and can be used for a stand-alone perovskite cell or a perovskite-silicon tandem top cell. TiO X N y films were fabricated by oxidizing sputtered titanium nitride films by controlled annealing temperatures in an oxygen atmosphere. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy (TEM) imaging shows that the as-deposited films are not fully crystalline and have an amorphous contrast and a distribution of crystalline particles with feature sizes ranging from 10 nm to 20 nm. The films were annealed at temperatures between 300 and 550 degrees Celsius, titanium filler rod ,nickel titanium wire, and scientists found that films annealed above 450 degrees Celsius exhibited higher conductivity and higher light transmittance. The device is built on a glass substrate, a fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) electrode, a TiO X N y layer, a perovskite thin film, and a hybrid hole transport layer composed of poly (3-hexylthiophene) and copper phthalocyanine. The unencapsulated cell was also able to maintain an initial efficiency of 98.7% after 200 hours of operation under standard lighting conditions. In the stability test, scientists tested perovskite cells with different processes, and all of them maintained an initial efficiency of more than 90% after 1,000 hours. However, scientists still believe that although both light immersion and wet heat stability tests show encouraging results, these are not enough to guarantee the stability of perovskite cells under actual operating conditions where heat, light and wet pressure act simultaneously.
